This is how Global Warming Alarmists measure heat waves. Hilarious…Source…
In my previous post I made a prediction:
Without a doubt, the climate change alarmists will continue to flood the media with nonsensical articles that credit human-caused global warming/climate change for either causing or intensifying the hurricane. You can bet your bottom dollar on it. (Source…)
I subsequently posted a reply to a friend, Keith Noren, from Huntsville, AL. In the reply, I cited 25 examples of climate change alarmists claiming that Hurricane Harvey was directly responsible for either causing or enhancing the strength and intensity of the hurricane. Keith posted a response to my reply to my in which which criticized my list. he posted the following comment:
Keith: As for Galveston, Harvey (also a Cat 4) will not be nearly as catastrophic because of better building today (e.g. strict, regulated building codes, no Galveston sea wall) and the landfall of Harvey is a less urban setting. No one is saying Harvey will be as bad, but that has not stopped David from hoping someone will (and lambasting them, Don Quixote comes to mind). But Harvey has been “catastrophic” to those affected. (Source…)
Keith completely missed the point of of my post. I was not declaring that Harvey would be worse than previous hurricanes that had hit the coasts of Texas. I did, declare, however, that contrary to past hurricanes, the severity of Harvey was being blamed or associated with global warning. I also declared that the alarmist media was going crazy writing nonsensical articles claiming that global warming is directly associated with global warming. I was correct. As I write this post, Harvey is continuing nearly full throttle. And the alarmists articles continue to appear in huge numbers. Many have been written in the last 24 hours. Here are 32 examples which represent only a partial list:

My prediction has came true. Climate change activists are flooding the media with articles claiming that Harvey is the prime example of what climate change can do to a hurricane. Nine of the all time top 10 worst hurricanes to hit the US occurred before 1970. The concept of global warming, now called anthropogenic climate change, didn’t exist before 1988. Pray tell how do the alarmists explain why and how the following hurricanes were formed or influenced;
1. 1935 Labor Day
2. 1969 Camille
3. 1992 Andrew
4. 1886 Indianola
5. 1919 Florida Keys
6. 1928 Lake Okeechobee
T7. 1926 Great Miami
T.7 1960 Donna
8. 1961 Carla
10. 1916 Texas Hurricane
Obviously the climate alarmists have no answer for what caused or influenced the any of them. The notion that climate change has suddenly reared his ugly head to cause or influenced current hurricanes is pure nonsense.
As sure as the sun comes up in the east on a clear day, one could predict the global warming alarmists would flood the media with the nonsensical prediction that the first hurricane to hit the US in more than a dozen years would be blamed on human-caused climate change. Unbelievable! No, if one understands the weird thinking of climate change alarmists, it’s very believable.
Well before the eye of Hurricane Harvey moved ashore near Rockport, TX, numerous articles blaming the storm on climate change were posted.
A good source for climate change nonsense is the Climate Progress blog. In one of the lead articles (Warmer waters are fueling Hurricane Harvey’s power) the two following paragraphs appeared:
The hurricane’s strength can be directly tied to our warming climate. Waters in the Gulf of Mexico, where Harvey is forming, are five degrees higher than normal. Warm waters help fuel hurricanes, increasing wind speeds while allowing the air to hold more water, which will eventually fall as rain.
As Texans flee for higher ground, the oil and gas infrastructure that lines the state’s coast will remain in the heart of the storm. There is a bitter irony to the idea that a storm, strengthened by human-caused climate change, carries the potential to destroy the very oil infrastructure that has contributed so much warming to our world.
The San Antonio Express-News posted an article with the following headline: Harvey’s intensity and rainfall potential tied to global warming. Coupled with the headline, the following two paragraphs are revealing.:
Global warming is making the oceans hotter, fueling the intensity and flooding potential of storms like Harvey, climate scientists said as the hurricane approached.
As the Earth’s climate warms because of human burning of fossil fuels, scientists have seen tropical cyclones become more intense and predict they will continue doing so.
Complete nonsense… Check the comment stream for some good responses.
As I write this, it has been an hour since Harvey came on shore. Earlier today, Anthony Watts posted the following blog article: Hurricane Harvey: likely to be the next “Katrina” and “Sandy” for climate alarmists. At the end of the article he posted the following headlines you’ll likely see:
- Harvey’s rainfall was made worse due to climate change/global warming
- Harvey’s flooding was made worse due to climate change/global warming
- Harvey’s storm surge was made worse due to climate change/global warming
- Harvey’s maximum sustained winds were made worse due to climate change/global warming
- Harvey spawned more tornadoes due to climate change/global warming
- More storms like Harvey are in our future due to climate change/global warming
Without a doubt, the climate change alarmists will continue to flood the media with nonsensical articles that credit human-caused global warming/climate change for either causing or intensifying the hurricane. You can bet your bottom dollar on it.
The intensity of climate change hysteria ebbs and flows with the latest news. Depending on whatever climate nonsense the global warming alarmists can create, emotional temperature runs hot, hotter and hottest. Climate change scientists, politicians, bloggers, media, and celebrity blowhards create and spread incredible false fears about future climate of Planet Earth.
Nearly two weeks have past since President Trump announced that the Unites States would withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord. And immediately, with one accord, climate change alarmists around the world began what may be the most hysterical response of climate insanity the planet has ever seen. It simply doesn’t get more insane than this latest outburst over the pact.
It’s impossible to list all of the hundreds of examples of hysteria surrounding the President’s announcement. Here are but a few of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Politicians ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Senator Chuck Shumer of New York:
Trump to Earth: Drop Dead. Source…
President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement is a devastating failure of historic proportions. Future generations will look back on President Trump’s decision as one of the worst policy moves made in the 21st century because of the huge damage to our economy, our environment and our geopolitical standing. Source…
Future generations will look back at “Cryin’ Chuck Shumer’s” insane hysteria and marvel how delusional he was. Trump’s policy move saved our economy and environment from the radical environmentalists. Our geopolitical standing on climate change hasn’t been damaged a whit. Other that Al Gore, Shumer may be the most dimwitted climate change Chicken Little of all U.S. politicians.
¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤
Former President Barack Obama
The nations that remain in the Paris agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created. *I believe the United States of America should be at the front of the pack. But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; **I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got. Source…
*Obama spent eight long years trying to lead the from behind. Now he attempts to declare that the United Stated should lead from the front. What a farce! The United States of America is now firmly in front of the pack on with respect to climate policy. The wild Chicken Little notion that the Paris climate accord will do a solitary thing toward curing or changing something that doesn’t exist is idiocy. Trump is boldly leading from the front much to the chagrin of the former President.
**So states, cities, and businesses are going to step up and and take charge to solve a problem that doesn’t exist? Believe it or not, three governors are planning to do just that. Gov. Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown of California , Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington state and Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York are uniting to back the Paris Climate pact. Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe also expressed interest in joining the new pact (Source…). Pity the poor folk of California, Washington state, and Connecticut. Their governors are going to waste multiple million$ of taxpayer dollars on the idiotic enterprise. It amounts to pouring all that money down the crapper. Even if the climate pact does work, the Paris climate promises will supposedly reduce temperatures by a measly 0.05°C in 2100 (Source…). Can you even imagine pouring million$, even billion$, down the toilet and getting a reduction of only 0.05°C over the next 83 years? That amounts to a yearly average reduction of 0.000602409°C over the the remainder of the century. Infinitesimal. Impossible to measure. Utterly ridiculous. Irrationally deranged . There will not be a single person reading this who will be alive to confirm or deny this idiocy. It doesn’t get more hysterically insane than this.
Former Secretary of State John Kerry:
“The President who promised “America First” has taken a self-destructive step that puts our nation last. This is an unprecedented forfeiture of American leadership which will cost us influence, cost us jobs, and invite other countries to walk away from solving humanity’s most existential crisis.” Source…
Senator Kerry parrots the standard alarmist talking points, i.e. international influence, so-called costs of jobs, and tempting other countries to walk away from the Paris Climate Accord. He believes that global warming is humanity’s most existential crisis. The very best thing the more than 190 countries remaining with the Paris Climate Accord could do would be themselves to withdraw.
The Paris Accord is a fraud, pure and simple. Katie Hopkins, columnist for the UK Daily Mail said, “All the United States is doing with the Paris accord is signing away billions of dollars to developing countries that create most of the emissions.” Source…
Amazingly, James Hansen, the father of global warming alarmism declared the accord to be a fraud. Hansen said. “It’s a fraud really, a fake. It’s just bullshit for them to say: ‘We’ll have a 2C warming target and then try to do a little better every five years.’ It’s just worthless words. There is no action, just promises. As long as fossil fuels appear to be the cheapest fuels out there, they will be continued to be burned.” Source… This sort of truthfulness coming from the very father of climate change alarmism blows John Kerry clean out of the water. Kerry is laughably hysterical. Although Hansen is primarily a classic climate change alarmist, he is honestly truthful in this case.
¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤
Senator Kamala Harris of California:
Leaving the Paris Agreement will have *catastrophic repercussions for our planet’s future and threatens our global leadership on this issue. Source…
*Catastrophic repercussions for our planets future?? The only Catastrophic repercussions for the future of our planet is the lunacy of politicians like Senator Harris who flale away with hysterical comments like this.
**The Senator’s comment is classical climate change hysteria. Of course there is no “Planet B.” Planet A has existed for more than 4.5 billion years. It’ll be around functioning normally for probably millions of years longer. Not a soul reading this blog will see or experience man made climate catastrophe in their lifetime. She joins the world’s climate change alarmists in believing the planet, as well as children and grandchildren, are desperately threatened by the simple withdrawal from a pact that is virtually toothless and meaningless. There’s nothing in the Paris Climate Accord, even if accepted by the USA, that would change a thing regarding climate change. Nothing. It’s a fraud.
¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤
Former Vice President Al Gore:
Removing the United States from the Paris agreement is a reckless and indefensible action. It undermines America’s standing in the world and threatens to damage humanity’s ability to solve the climate crisis in time. Source…
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Al Gore is the reigning king of global warming hysteria. He has created more disciples for his kingdom than all other climate change alarmists combined. He has also bilked more people out of their money than all other alarmists combined. He’s worth $300 million, most of it coming from one form or another of his hysterical AGW campaigns. His reaction to Trump’s withdrawal from the pact is typical of the AGW madness. It’s lunacy for him to think that simply withdrawing from a meaningless climate pact can in any way damage humanity’s ability to solve a climate crisis. In the first, place there is no climate crisis. Secondly, even if there were a climate crisis, there isn’t a human, or a collection of humanity, that could solve it. Humanity simply cannot control climate. Controlling climate is a figment of the imagination of the Al Gore’s hysterical mind.
Donald Trump reportedly plans to withdraw from Paris climate deal. Source…
If this is true he will have the death of whole nations on his hands. People will be looking to the USA for retribution for what they loose. Source…
Trump will have the death of whole nations on his hands for withdrawing from the Paris Climate accord? Baloney Cheese! Chalk that hysterically silly notion up to the liberal thinking of a duped know-nothing Hollywood celebrity. More people died in the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks than will ever die as the results of Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord.
¤ ¤ ¤ ¤ ¤
Note to Cher: Cut the hysterical alarmist idiocy already! Please know that there is no “insane DICTATOR” holding anyone hostage in the USA. Trump may well have some negative political qualities, but he most definitely DOES NOT trash American values. Nor does he admire Killers.
*“Today, the future livability of our planet was threatened by Trump.” Source…
**”President Trump’s careless decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement. Our future on this planet is now more at risk than ever before. For Americans and those in the world community looking for strong leadership on climate issues, this action is deeply discouraging.”
***“Now, more than ever, we must be determined to solve climate change, and to challenge those leaders who do not believe in scientific facts or empirical truths. It is time for all of us to stand up, organize, fight back, and channel our energy into grassroots political action.” Source…
*Absolute hysteria I. Trump couldn’t threaten the future livability of our planet even if he desired to do so.
**Absolute hysteria II. Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement was the best possible response. The future on this planet is not at risk insofar as climate change is concerned.
***Absolute hysteria III. There is no climate change crisis which needs a solution. The so-called “scientific facts” & “empirical truths” preached by Decaprio and his ilk are nothing more than AGW propaganda.
Leave it Michael Moore come up with hysterical off-the-wall comments. He’s the master of such. The crime against humanity is the totality of his public commentary, film making, and writings. Few people can exceed his lunacy.
Cartoon depicting the insane hysteria displayed by Anti-Trump climate alarmists.
On successive weekends climate change alarmists have gathered themselves together in large bunches hither and yon across the country to dress up in goofy costumes and carry silly signs to march for science. For years these strange people have been boasting about a so-called “97% Consensus” among scientists about climate change. The truth of the matter is that the claim is amazingly bogus. One skeptic blog, however, exposed the factitious claim and compiled a list of 97 Articles Refuting The “97% Consensus”. The “97% Consensus” claim is little more than 200 tons of hot air sans all the CO2 on the planet.
I’m convinced that 97% of all climate marches are hot air. A quick google search will reveal literally hundreds photos of climate marchers over the past weekend. Some are humorous. Some are crazy. Some are pointless. Some are dumb. Some expose ignorance of those carrying signs. And some are just plain lewd. Here’s sharing some of the best of the ridiculous, wild and crazy photos.
The first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970. According to Wikipedia, the first Earth Day celebrations took place in two thousand colleges and universities, roughly ten thousand primary and secondary schools, and hundreds of communities across the United States. (Source)
The inaugural festivities (organized in part by then hippie and now convicted murderer Ira Einhorn) predicted death, destruction and disease unless we did exactly as progressives commanded. Among the predictions were the following thirteen:
- “Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — Harvard biologist George Wald
- “We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.” — Washington University biologist Barry Commoner
- “Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” — New York Times editorial
- “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” — Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich
- “Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born… [By 1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” — Paul Ehrlich
- “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” — Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day
- “Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions…. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” — North Texas State University professor Peter Gunter
- “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution… by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.” — Life magazine
- “At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt
- “Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” — Paul Ehrlich
- “By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate… that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, ‘Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, ‘I am very sorry, there isn’t any.’” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt
- “[One] theory assumes that the earth’s cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun’s heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born.” — Newsweek magazine
- “The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” — Kenneth Watt Source…
Nothing much has changed over the past 47 years. Fear mongering about the environment and climate isn’t new. A cursory examination of the 13 wild predictions made in 1970 are much the same as those being made today. The notion that earth’s climate and the environment are coming to a soon end is just as ridiculous today as it was in 1970. The only thing which has changed is the manner in which the fear is being expressed along with the names of the fear mongers. The 1970s fear mongers were George Wald, Barry Commoner, Paul Ehrlich, Kenneth Watt, and Newsweek Magazine. Today’s fear mongers are Al Gore, James Hansen, Michael Mann, Barack Obama, et.al and scores of CAGW bloggers.
In 1970 the fear mongering was about catastrophic global freezing, which did not occur. Today’s fear mongering is about catastrophic global warming, which isn’t occurring and will not occur any time soon. The age of planet Earth is said to be 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years. Catastrophic climate change, one way or the other, will not occur in a mere forty-seven years. Impossible! Fear mongering about catastrophic climate/environmental issues is a completely useless enterprise. Be happy. Enjoy life. Live it to the fullest. Forget the fear mongering.
The 2017 Earth Day March for Science was indeed a crazy one. I spent a couple of hours googling photos and articles about the march. It was quite an interesting experience. Of course front and center at one of the parades was Crazy Bill Nye, the Pseudo Science Guy. Following him was a bunch of mind-numbed followers including, believe it or not, dogs carrying signs. Only in the crazy world of CAGW alarmism will one observe dogs carrying protest signs. It was hilarious.
Here are some articles written from the skeptical view.
